 🚨 Official Statement from the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF)


Following its review of the decisions issued by CAF’s Disciplinary Committee, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation has expressed its stance regarding the recent rulings linked to the events that took place during the AFCON final match between Morocco and Senegal on Sunday, January 18, 2026.


The match witnessed the withdrawal of Senegal’s players, the storming of the pitch by fans and the resulting chaos and crowd disturbances.


FRMF believes the sanctions handed down do not reflect the seriousness of the incidents. 


This position was also emphasized in the official correspondence sent by the Federation’s President to the CAF President.


In order to protect Morocco’s rights under the regulations, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation has officially decided to appeal .
