The Sunday Times Tax List reveals 25-year-old Erling Haaland, who earns 500,000 pounds a week , is the youngest among the top 100 biggest taxpayers, having paid 16.9 million pounds in the past year. He is the footballer that pays the most tax, coming in the 72nd position. 

Mohamed Salah follows with 14.5 million pounds paid. According to The Times, Salah earns 400,000 pounds a week and earned an extra 10 million pounds yearly in image rights and bonuses. 

Overall the third footballer is Casemiro at 10.9 million pounds paid, 4th is Rahim Sterling at 9.8 million pounds, while Virgil van Dijk is 5th at 9.7 million pounds.

Bruno Fernandes and Bernardo Silva are level at 9 million pounds. 

The tax list was topped by bookmakers Betfred, who contributed £400m to the public finances, the equivalent of almost £1.1m a day.
